Please take the time to read order process and the Terms & Conditions
Summary
Our tailors make costumes to the measurements that you give to us when making your purchase. This is why it is always best to double check your measurements before submitting your order. Our costumes are not pre-made, and they are not made in bulk; each time you order, they are tailor made just for you. Fabrics, sequins and crystals are ordered in.
Processing time
Please allow 1-4 weeks for a design to be agreed on, either I will design to a budget or if your budget is relaxed I will design without a budget and let you know the cost afterwards, up to 3 design alterations may be made, there will be a fee per design after that. From payment to delivery please allow 4-6 weeks for a solo or duet, for a team of any size please allow 8-12 weeks. Generally the more expensive the design the longer construction will take. Production times may vary depending on the complexity of style or lack of materials. Please note that our products may take longer than our average processing times due to them being made-to-order, so if you have a time frame, please adjust accordingly. If you have a competition coming up I will do my best to get the order done in time but it is not guaranteed, keep in mind that county and national competitions have many swimmers all ordering for the same date and there is only one person designing and manufacturing, so to ensure your costume made in time get payment in as early as possible.

Colour Matching
No guarantee can be given as to the colour match of goods especially if ordered at different times. Fabric and sequin manufacturers used also make to order so there may be slight variances each time. Colours on designs are an estimate, all colours look slightly different when with shine effect.
Washing Instructions
All fabrics:-
Do not shower in your suit, soaps and warm water can cause shine to fade and dye to run.
Rinse your swimsuit in cool water immediately following swimming in salt or chlorinated water.
Hand wash your suit do not wash in the washing machine.
Wash suits singly – bleeding of the dye is normal and will stop after a while.
Colours fade after wear, to prolong fading hang in a shaded area, sunlight can fade fabrics. Or if possible lay flat to dry on a towel.
Sun, tanning/bronzing lotions, tinted moisturizers, oils, harsh chemicals and minerals, salt water, chlorine, and extreme heat naturally put wear on any swimsuit; this is not a manufacturing defect.

FYI
Please note that these requests are concept costume designs that customers have submitted, and so these are things that our production teams have yet to know how to make. This meaning that, though we state a time frame it may exceed longer depending on the details of the product. Our production need time to study the product, make patterns, find the right materials, and have time for trial and error. This is also why we usually do not accept time frames on Commission Request items.
The designing and finished product will be up to Selkie Swimwear; meaning we will not be responsible for your dissatisfaction on personal opinions on how the request “should have” turned out. We will, however, take note and see what we can do if there are mistakes in the actual design of the product. Team orders may vary in design from suit to suit as not all sizes are perfectly proportionate and all costumes are hand made.
If you want to get a better idea of how your Commission Request may turn out, check out the blog and/or gallery.
